2019 Presbytery Conference
The presbytery conference will be held in Sheffield and will have a particular focus this year on both the delivery and reception of preaching. This is a conference for the whole church and all are welcome. The schedule can be found below:
Friday 25th January 2019
10.00am: Arrive — tea and coffee
10.30am: Opening sermon and worship: Stephen Dancer (TBC).
11.00am-12.00: Bill Schweitzer, “A theology of preaching”.
12.00-1.00pm: David Pfeiffer, “Preparing a sermon outline”.
1.00pm-2:30pm: Lunch (bring your own sandwiches)
2.30pm-3.30pm: Peter Naylor, “The 10 do’s and don’ts of preaching”.
3.30pm-4.00pm tea and coffee
4.00pm-5.00pm: Kevin Bidwell, “A theology of hearing sermons”.
5.00pm-7.30pm: Carvery meal together at a nearby carvery.
7.30pm-8.30pm: Matthew Jolley, “John Newton on the topic of hearing sermons”.
8.30pm-9.30pm: Andy Young, “On delivering a sermon”.
Saturday 26th January 2019
